FAQ
Q31:
How Does Photochromic Glass Work?
A:
Photochromic glass is made by laminating photochromic PVB between glass panes. The interlayer changes tint in response to UV exposure, allowing the finished glass to adapt to changing sunlight without an electrical control system
Q32:
What Is Photochromic PVB Film?
A:
Photochromic PVB is a functional interlayer for laminated glass. It responds to ultraviolet (UV) light in sunlight: stronger UV exposure makes it darker, while reduced exposure allows it to become lighter.
Q33:
How Is Photochromic Glass Different from EP and EC Smart Glass?
A:
Photochromic glass responds to light conditions without electrical control. EP (SPD) glass changes tint when its electrical input is adjusted and returns to dark when power is removed. EC glass changes tint through an electrochromic reaction controlled by electricity. Choose according to whether the project needs an automatic light response or user-controlled tint, and compare each product’s switching behavior and glazing performance.
Q34:
Does Photochromic Smart Glass Need Electricity, and What Makes It Change Tint?
A:
Photochromic glass changes its optical appearance in response to light exposure rather than an electrical switch. Its response depends on the photochromic product and lighting conditions. If users need to choose a tint level on demand, compare an electrically controlled option instead.
Q35:
How Do I Test an LCD, OLED or Mini LED Screen Before Ordering Display Cloaking Film?
A:
Place a sample between the actual screen and the intended outside viewing position. Rotate the sample to find the effective orientation, then check the result from several realistic angles. LCD screens are typically compatible, while results with OLED and Mini LED displays vary by model. Mark the confirmed film direction before installation.
Q36:
Does Display Cloaking Film Hide Screen Content from Every Viewing Angle?
A:
No. Cloaking performance depends on the screen, film orientation and viewing position. Test the actual display through a film sample from the positions where people outside the room may stand. Display cloaking film leaves the surrounding glass transparent.
Q37:
How Should Self-Adhesive Smart Film Be Cleaned After Installation?
A:
Gently wipe the film surface with a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with alcohol. Do not pour or spray alcohol directly onto the film. Avoid abrasive tools and keep liquid away from the film edges and electrical connections.
Q38:
What Is the Difference Between Privacy Control and Solar Heat Control?
A:
Privacy control describes how well the glass obscures the view. Solar heat control describes how much solar energy the complete glazing admits. A frosted film can provide privacy without necessarily delivering strong heat reduction. For solar performance, compare tested values for the proposed glass assembly.
Q39:
Can Laminated Smart Glass Be Combined with Low-E Glass in an IGU?
A:
Yes. A laminated smart glass panel can be used as one lite of an insulated glass unit (IGU), with Low-E glass incorporated according to the project design. The complete unit should be specified for its required privacy, thermal, structural and electrical performance.
Q40:
Can Smart Film Be Installed on Curved or Irregularly Shaped Glass?
A:
Some films and glass constructions can accommodate curves or custom shapes, but feasibility depends on the film type, bending radius, cutting method and busbar position. Provide a dimensioned drawing and, for curved glass, the radius before ordering. Complex designs should be reviewed before fabrication.
