Meeting Room Smart Privacy & Data Protection Solutions
Meeting rooms often require two levels of privacy: visual privacy for the entire space and data privacy for sensitive information displayed on screens.
InnoGlass provides smart glass and film solutions designed for both needs. PDLC and PNLC smart film can instantly switch between transparent and private states, creating flexible privacy for meetings, presentations and confidential discussions. Meanwhile, Display Cloaking Film helps protect sensitive information shown on meeting room screens from outside viewers while keeping the surrounding glass transparent.
Common Challenges
Lack of Visual Privacy
Transparent glass meeting rooms may expose meetings, presentations and activities to people outside the room.
Sensitive Information on Screens
Presentations, financial information and other confidential data displayed on screens may be visible through transparent glass.
Privacy vs. Openness
Modern offices need privacy when meetings are in progress while maintaining an open, transparent environment at other times.

FAQ
Q1:
How Do I Choose Between Laminated Smart Glass and Self-Adhesive Smart Film?
A:
Choose laminated smart glass when ordering new glass or when enclosing the film within the panel is important. Choose self-adhesive smart film when suitable glass is already installed and avoiding replacement is the priority. Confirm the environment, glass dimensions, wiring and total installed cost before ordering.
Q2:
When Is Self-Adhesive Smart Film the Better Choice?
A:
Self-adhesive film is well suited to retrofitting suitable glass that is already installed. It can add switchable privacy without removing the glass, provided the surface is in good condition and there is a suitable route for wiring.
Q3:
Is PDLC Smart Film transparent when powered on or off?
A:
For conventional PDLC Smart Film, the film is transparent when powered on and becomes translucent or opaque when powered off. This allows users to switch between an open, transparent view and a private state instantly.
Q4:
How much power does PDLC Smart Film consume?
A:
PDLC Smart Film consumes electricity mainly when it is in the transparent state. Power consumption depends on the film size, operating voltage and product design, normally about 4W/sqm. Because the film is generally powered only when transparency is required, its overall energy consumption can be relatively low compared with continuously powered glass technologies.
Q5:
What is the difference between PNLC and PDLC Smart Film?
A:
Both PNLC and PDLC use liquid crystal technology to control light transmission, but their material structures and optical behavior are different. PNLC uses a polymer network structure, while conventional PDLC uses polymer-dispersed liquid crystal droplets. The switching behavior, optical performance, haze and visual appearance can therefore differ between the two technologies.
Q6:
What is PNLC Smart Film and how does it work?
A:
PNLC, also referred to as reverse PDLC film. Unlike standard PDLC film, PNLC remains transparent in the power-off state and switches to frosted opaque when powered on. Our PNLC film delivers excellent UV resistance, making it suitable for sunlit windows and sun-exposed glass applications.
Q7:
Can PDLC Smart Film be controlled by a switch, remote control or smart home system?
A:
Yes. PDLC Smart Film can be controlled using wall switches, remote controls, dimming controllers and, depending on the control system, smart home or building automation systems. Multiple panels can also be connected to a centralized control system for larger projects.
Q8:
How Does Display Cloaking Film Work?
A:
The film selectively blocks light from compatible screens when installed in the correct direction. From the intended viewing side, the screen content becomes difficult to see, while people and objects behind the glass remain visible.
Q9:
What Is Display Cloaking Film?
A:
Display cloaking film is a transparent film applied to glass partitions. It helps obscure compatible display screens from viewers outside a room while leaving the rest of the room visible.
Q10:
Does Display Cloaking Film Turn Glass Frosted?
A:
No. The glass remains transparent. The film only affects the visibility of compatible screens; it does not make the entire glass panel opaque or frosted.
Q11:
Does Display Cloaking Film Require Electricity?
A:
No. It is a passive film. It needs no wiring, controller or power supply and does not switch between transparent and frosted states.
Q12:
Which Screens Work with Display Cloaking Film?
A:
It typically works well with LCD screens, but compatibility with OLED and Mini LED screens varies by display model. Screen technology alone cannot guarantee the result, so the actual project screen should be tested before installation.
Q13:
Will It Hide Laptop, Tablet and Phone Screens?
A:
That depends on the individual display. Do not assume a device is compatible based only on its size or product category. Test each screen whose content needs to be concealed.
Q14:
Which smart glass technology should I choose?
A:
As a simple guide: choose PDLC/PNLC for privacy, DLC for privacy plus shading, EP (SPD) for fast dynamic solar control, and Photochromic Glass for automatic power-free shading. The final choice should also consider glass location, sunlight intensity, desired transparency, privacy requirements, glass structure and project budget.
